This award recognizes Styrian companies that demonstrate innovation, commitment, and economic relevance. The selection is made through a public vote, in which oqdo prevailed against strong competitors.
Rethinking Energy Efficiency
oqdo was founded in 2022 by Roman Ruthofer and Patrick Resch and specializes in optimizing energy management in commercial buildings – including hotels, schools, offices, and shopping centers. The solution: an intelligent combination of app and hardware that makes energy flows transparent and automatically provides optimization suggestions 1.
"Our app is simple, clear, and transparent. It allows our customers to intervene independently and save energy – often overnight," explains Managing Director Roman Ruthofer.
Internationally successful – locally rooted
The six-person team from Gleisdorf now serves customers as far away as Latin America – including well-known companies such as Porsche Real Estate. And all of this is done from Styria: The systems are installed easily within one day, and the hardware is shipped directly to the customer 1.
A strong signal for green technologies
The award from the SFG is not only recognition for oqdo's work to date, but also a strong signal for Styria's innovative spirit in the field of sustainable technologies. State Minister for Economic Affairs Willibald Ehrenhöfer, SFG Managing Director Christoph Ludwig, and the founders of oqdo jointly accepted the award 1.
